Our house
Sans titre
Our guesthouse and family home, La Casa Occitane, is in the centre of Marseillan old village, conveniently close to the port with the Noilly Prat distillery and local wine–makers' caves on-hand for regular tours and tastings. There is also the chance to take daily pleasure boat trips directly from the harbour-front, out onto the saltwater lagoon, L'etang du Thau. Don't miss this opportunity to visit the unique Oyster Tables, family-run for generations, and see first-hand where the oysters and mussels currently served at the port-side restaurants are actually grown. Dining on naturally fresh, local produce is simply a way of life here in the Real South of France!
We have bicycles for hire, if you would like to take a trip on the smooth and flat designated cycle paths from Marseillan town to Marseillan Plage – just 4km distance. The wonderfully wide, golden sandy beaches stretch all the way along the coast from Agde to Sete, so there's plenty of choices of beaches to visit. However, if you'd prefer to stay closer to home and relax in the shade, on comfortable sun-loungers beside our salt-freshened heated swimming pool (open from mid-may to end of September) we will completely understand ~ the choice is yours to come and go as you please. With an honesty bar and fridge available for your use, and even a small exercise area with bike and rower, we think you will have all you need to pass the hours, and days, of your holiday stay in our 19th century winemaker's house that we call Home.
In summer, breakfast is served every morning on the shaded terrace overlooking our 500m² peaceful walled garden. We invite you to relax and enjoy the birdsong, watch the butterflies visiting the colourful flowers, and approach the day at an easy pace as we bring you your choices from our extensive breakfast menu. Take your time to linger and let the day begin …
